Chamois

Le chamois est l'un des emblêmes du massif des Vosges. Il n'y est pourtant arrivé que dans les années cinquante.
Il y est réintroduit en 1956, à la faveur d'un cadeau diplomatique fait par l'Allemagne à la France.
Il y aurait aujourd'hui entre 800 et 1200 individus dans le massif, selon les estimations.

The chamois is one of the emblems of the Vosges Mountains. Yet it only arrived there in the 1950s.

It was reintroduced in 1956, thanks to a diplomatic gift from Germany to France.
Today, there are estimated to be between 800 and 1200 chamois in the mountains.

Je me situe à l'autre extrémité du spectre de la photographie animalière. Toutefois, très honnêtement, j'apprécie toujours de regarder ce genre de photos de faune sauvage qui mettent en lumière le côté apprivoisé des animaux (à l'exception des serpents et des reptiles). Au-delà de leur instinct de survie, ils possèdent cette facette tendre de la nature. ~VVVVV+~ I sit at the other end of the wildlife photography spectrum. However—quite honestly—I always enjoy looking at this kind of wildlife photography that highlights the gentle side of animals (with the exception of snakes and reptiles). Beyond their survival instincts, they possess this tender facet of nature. ~VVVVV+~
