Chilas is a tribal settlement in the lower Hunza valley (Northern Areas) of Pakistan, renowned for their ferocious temperament and conversatism. Also known to throw stones at visiting foreigners.... these 2 old timers, however, were actually very friendly and welcomed \the mini photo session.

Incidentally, those beards are real!!!!! The red coloration in the beards is quite typical in these communities - it's done with henna dye.
