Supernova remnant in Vela

Tivoli/Namibia

These tendrils of exited hydrogen and oxygen are the remnants of a supernova which occurred approx. 10000-11000 years ago.
They cover a huge area in the constellation of Vela. Above picture shows the northern part of the remnant.
