East Lyme, CT

This is the place of boyhood memories, an idyllic place. Golden Spur sits at the headwaters of the Niantic River, where it meets Latimer Brook. The Niantic River flows into Long Island Sound, which flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Which is another story.

We lived here in the 1950’s. I had a boat, and spent whole summers rowing, sailing, fishing, crabbing, and swimming in this very spot.

This photo was taken in October of 2006 during a trip East for my 40th class reunion. The only difference between then and now is that the house we lived in (right on the river with its own dock) is worth about 500,000 $.
