Pella, IA

In 2008, I made my way to Pella the evening before the first day of the Tulip Time festival. The crowds had not descended and there was room to take photos. Also, the sky was overcast and added a vibrant luminosity to the tulip photos.

The best shots of the day were in the Scholte gardens, and I loved the image of the little Dutch boy being handed to his smiling sister.

Note the traditional pram. All is charming and old world at Tulip time. Including more than 100,000 of the most beautiful tulips in the world.
