American crow

Fletcher Wildlife Garden

The white patches on this crow are excrement, crow poop. Crows roost in high densities in winter, packed close together in trees, and when one lets loose, those below get splattered. From a distance it can look as if the crow has white feathering. The next photo shows this whiteness even better. (CH)
