Kickin it...FREESTYLE!

Tonight was the night I have been worried about for a few weeks now. Ian had it set in his mind that he was going to enter the school talent show. And...he wanted to dance...freestyle. Now, long time viewers know that this kid can bust a move. He toasted the old man back in April, so I had a feeling he wasn't gonna let this go. We were afraid that the other kids might laugh at him, or that he would get stage fright and go running off. The teachers assured us that it would be ok, and that we should let him enter. Ok.

Ian came out past the mid point of the show and danced to a Jonas Brothers Song, "SOS". His moves started off pretty aggressive, and he was working most of the stage area. But as the song went on, he kinda stuck to some safe moves and worked the center of the stage. I could tell he was nervous, but god bless him, he stuck it out for the full 2 minutes. That shows more balls than his old man would have at his age, or any age for that matter. I'm so proud of him.

I asked him what moves he's going to incorporate next time, to which he replied, "none, I'm not going to do that again." It's too bad, cuz I was hoping he was going to unleash the famous Ian-handstand.

Margaret did her best to hold the camcorder and Eli, while I fired off the Canon. So, if I can figure out how to get the Hi-8 video of of it and into the computer, I'll post it this weekend and another shot of Ian on stage.

He may change his mind! What a great kid you have, John! I am proud of him as well! You and your wife have done a great job raising him! I applaud him and you both!

Matching shoes to go with the shirt - kid's got style. I would not have done that when I was a kid - I'm a wallflower :-)
