Inspired shot

Every once in a while, you just need a good chat with a friend to break away from your own boring life for a while, and tap into someone elses life for a little bit. I was online chatting with Carrie Becker tonight. We had a really nice time discussing just whatever came up in conversation.

Carrie is a not only a wife and a mommy, but also a talented portrait photographer who works a lot with children and pets. I'm guessing she's a lot like me, in that we both enjoyed photographing our own children so much, that it branched out into other peoples children as well. And pets? While fun to photograph, they can be just as big of a challenge as babies, so I know she's good.

After we logged off tonight, I just felt inspired to go grab a shot of the boys before they headed off to bed. It just so happened that they were both on the sofa, watching mommy take down the last of the christmas ornaments. I haven't been picking up the camera as much lately, so I figured I'd better fix that. Of course, Ian decided he was either going to blink, look away, or over do every smile he threw my way. So when I grabbed this shot of Eli looking over at one of Ian's cheesy smiles, I knew it was the keeper for tonight.

It's always great to build on the casual relationships that some of us have built thru pbase, and to turn them into a great friendship. Jim, Mike, and Clark are far too busy for me now-a-days, so now Carrie is my NEW BFF! And if all else fails, I'm going to steal all her photography secrets and leave her for dead somewhere. ;)

Thanks for the great chat tonight, Carrie, and for the inspiration.

Sorry it took me so long to comment. I was way to busy for this. Sheesh. You're needy. You know that. I bet you're a cuddler aren't you? You'll be WISHING I was too busy for you the next time I call all frantic.

Thanks John. It really is nice getting to know others. Some of my best friends are online, and I have never met them at all. Thanks to you, that list is one person longer. ;-)

That Ian gets cuter every day!!! I can see the bond forming between the two of them.. fun times!

Man, Eli is really looking like his big brother. He's a mini-Ian!

Eli sure is entertaned by his big brother Ian. Sweet picture. Ask Margaret about Scott's cheesy smiles. I have at least 6 years of school pictures with cheesy forced smiles. We even practiced at home the night before picture day. Good Luck for at least the next 5 years.

It does look like Eli's saying something to Ian - passing secrets already - LOL! Great catch John.

You crack me up! Ian looks like he's telling Eli to quit being silly. He's got his hand up as if to say, hold on Dad, Eli's being silly again!!!! I love this image! I just love it!!!
