I was a corpsman assigned to the 1st. Med Battalion 1st Marine Division and we boarded the Manitowoc in 1972. Were playing games at sea. Loading and unloading in mike boats. Climbing down nets and such. We were aboard for awhile. I know you sailors did not appreciate us. You guys just returned from a west pack cruise and they loaded us up and off we went. I would sure love some onfo on that particular operation. Maybe photos. You guys were the best.

I was assigned to the Manitowoc about 6 months in 1979 as the 1st and only Electronic Warfare tech, The Manitowoc had no EW gear. I was put in the OS department until the Navy figured out an LST did not need an EW.

I served aboard the USS Manitowoc, LST 1180 from 1973-1975. We went from the West Coast to the East Coast through the Panama Canal. Would like to contact navy buddies from that time.

Was on the pre-com and first 2 years of the Manny 1969-1971 in Ops as an RD and ships photog.. Have a lot of photos of those years also super 8 film/VHS/DVD of the 2nd WestPac we did in 1971. Interesting stuff like the typhoon we skirted, Hong Kong, Japan; and hopefully will post some later here and on YouTube.

Served on the manny 75 to 77 M division en3 North Atlantic, multiple trips to Jamaica, and throughout the Caribbean sat in the fjord for a month just had a wonderful time.

Great gallery brings back memories I was on the mighty manny in "m" division 1981-1984 EMO3 pitch propellar tech EN2, Glad to see some one has pictures to post thanks kevin
