Birds were once shot at nationwide in the late 1950s and early 1960s because of famine and the birds were eating the food for people. Now birds are back but still not as many as people would like to see them. These seemingly very ordinary birds are kept in a cage, getting more attention they are accustomed to. The caretakers are usually retired men.
