Dragonfly on Basil

There is nothing better than fresh tomatoes and basil. I have lots of basil, but I'm still waiting for my tomatoes.

Wow Elaine, this is stunning, I love how he blends with the basil he is on and the detail is so sharp. Nice work.

I see one of my black swallowtails got down in your direction! LOL!
Don't you just love the fragrance of basil! I put stems of it in with floral bouquets, especially whe nI keep them in the kitchen =)

Tomato and basil might be good, but dragonflies and butterflies are even better. At least to photograph.

Stunning capture of the dragonfly. I like his complementary color. There is nothing like fresh tomato and fresh basil. And you can always make pesto until the tomatoes come in. :)

Plus, a bit of dragonfly adds just a bit of crunch as well. Mmmmm! :-)

If you'd visit your mom I bet she knows where some vine-ripened tomatoes are.

Great capture of the dragonfly.

Wow what a close up of the Eastern Pondhawk. This is nice, it is close enough that I can seperate the dragonfly from the greenery. What lens are you using for this shot Elaine?
Coleen Perilloux Landry23-May-2006 02:21
The green is perfect--almost the same but just enough contrast. I can smell that basil from here and that mosquito hawk is eating it!!
