Japanese Magnolia

My entire tree is now in bloom and the colors are wonderful. I liked the shape of this flower.

I agree Elaine, I have not seen one like this. The color is wonderful too.

Beautiful, Elaine! I just posted this same flower not knowing what it was...Gayle came to my rescue and identified it as a Japanese Magnolia!

Simple shapes and beautiful colors. What more could anyone want?

I love magnolias! My grandparents in Kentucky had a huge tree right smack in the middle of their front yard. I wish the climate here were more temperate, so we could grow them. Beautiful shot - brings back memories.

It is lovely. Pretty color too. Around here, magnolias have a life span of about three days before a frost kills them.

Beautiful flower Elaine. I'd be happy to see mud.

The texture and color are perfect. Hope tonight's weather does not ruin too many magnolias.

You caught both the shape and texture well. That is a wonderful rich pink.

Very nice capture. I as well like this almost unusual shape. I like the colors, how they are rich on the outer side of the petals and softer inside. Very nice DoF as well.
