Plumage of an immature bald eagle has a mottled pattern of dark brown and white and it takes about five years to acquire full adult plumage. Their bill and cere (the fleshy, waxy covering at the base of the upper beak) are a blackish gray, their eyes are dark brown and their feet and lower legs are yellow.
