The Wind River Trip of 2007. Starting at Mayo, Yukon Territory we flew about 100km north east to McClusky Lake in the Wernecke mountains. From there, we canoed the Wind River and the Peel River, to the mouth of the Snake river, a distance of about 240km. The mouth of the Snake River on the Peel River is on the Arctic Circle. In the 9 days of canoeing, we saw 2 buildings (uninhabited), and 3 other groups of travelers. This was a self guided trip by a group of 8 from Ottawa, Ontario.
