Dear Eric, thank so much to visit my gallery. I am always intersited in how forigners see and feel Japanese life style. For me, this photo seems one the representaitives of Japanese "politeness", many of those have been ruined in current Japan, but still alive in Kamakura/Kyoto/Nara ancient cityies. The "Geta"s, common shoes in ole Japan, has to be set their front to the forward and aligned when left them at "Genkan" for the convenience when leave the house. Sorry for long comment.
