In spite of the rain, Matt and I went out one night thinking we would find toads, but little else. Two minutes from the hotel, we came across one of the best finds of the trip – a Sonoran Desert Kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula splendida). It was probably out looking for a tasty rattlesnake to eat. Here, Matt is slowing it down so I can get a pic. They can move fast when they want to!
