1/27/08 - Colorful Rose

Not wild about this but it documents an experiment.
Shot through a spiraling piece of metal - think like the cork screw slivers that occasionally are created by a can opener except it's the size of a twisted venetian blind slat several feet long. At the far end was the rose. The macro lens was inserted in the near end (which made adjusting focus difficult). Behind this whole mess was a multi-colored stained glass window. The cork screw reflected the stained glass colors while at the same time breaking them up into round swirls instead of solid colors. Didn't have a lot of time to really work on this - and it shows. Can't win them all.

What an inventive setup, with very interesting possibilities!

You remind me of something Freeman Patterson said: "If it's worth trying, it's worth trying again." :)

Interesting idea, but sounds pretty difficult to put into practice.
