I was torn between this one and a couple of dewy webs - especially this one http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/85292242 which is a bit different since I intentionally shot it from the *edge* to get only one strand in focus surrounded by out of focus orbs. Shooting a web straight on - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/85292240 - is too common although this teeny, tiny spider having its breakfast makes it less ordinary.
Back to the sunrise - I put the zoom that I used for the past week's cattail PADs away and put on a "proper" lens for this scene. Used a *reverse* grad ND filter to help with the sun. Blurred the corners a little to keep the focus on the sunrise (Nik Vignetter Blur filter).
I was interested to read recently that one thing that Ansel Adams did regularly was darken the edges of his prints - and I thought that it was just me who did that.
