3/27/07 - Painterly Gerbera

Another depth of field experiment. Focus on the front of the nearest petals. This is in comparison to the PAD from a few days ago of this same gerbera daisy wher the focal point was teh center of the flower - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/76102944
Do you have a preference? Or is it Six of One and A Half-dozen of the Other?

I prefer the one where it is focused on the center. I can't really explain why very well. It just really snaps a lot better for me. This one has too narrow a DOF to be satisfying. The other's narrow DOF works for the composition. They're still both lovely!
