Still playing catch up after a week in the Smokies with no internet connection.
This is one of the many, many streams in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. I spent an entire day stopping at every roadside pulloff looking for the elusive fall color reflected in cascading water - no luck after the servere wind storm (100 mph) which seems to have stripped much of the colorful foliage. This is about as good as I could find; unfortunately it didn't lend itself to fall color reflections.
My LL Bean water proof boots got a workout as I took dozens of shots standing in cascades (and soaked the bottom of my Photo-vest while sitting on a rock in midstream without realizing that the vest was in the water). I'm thankful that none of the slippery rocks took me down.
