Hyatt Lane, a gravel road that cuts across the Cade's Cove loop scenic road in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. I was hoping to see this scene bathed in mist, but no luck in spite of going every morning for a week. You can see that the mountain tops in the background had the mist - just not the scene that I had hoped to see. (Actually, the scene that I actually was looking for was nearby on Sparks Lane but I didn't realize it until too late - the evening before my early morning departure.)
The only downside to early morning photography (as in starting to shoot about 30 minutes before sunrise) is that you have to commit to going to the site before it's possible to know what the weather/atmosphere is going to be - which typically means getting up at least 90 minutes before sunrise regardless of the outcome. No regrets though.
