7/7/06 - Experimental Photography

After complaining about "burn out" and "been there, done that" with regard to my photography I decided to do something about it. This is one of those attempts - an experiment in photography (but camera photography - not "Photoshop" imaging).
This image was shot at +2EV (overexposed by 2 stops0 to create a high key effect on the upper right dahlia (yes, back to dahlias) which was the lightest of the three and thus more susceptible to the effect. Nothing done afterwards except my ususal - minor contrast and color adjustment plus sharpening (but I did slightly exagerate the sharpening to emphasize the remaining details in the petals of the high-key flower).
I found the progression in the high key effect from almost none in the lower right flower and ever increasing in a clockwise progression interesting. I assume that it had something to do with the coloring of the petals and the size of the blossoms as it affected the camera's metering (matrix was used). Maybe as I experiment more it will be more understandable.
