6/4/06 - A Rose is a Rose

A Double Exposure (one exposure with subject in sharp focus and one with it completely out of focus - a large blur) to get a "glow"
while at the same time doing a
Shoot Through (focus on subject with wide open lens with intervening blossoms providing a soft totally out of focus foreground)
I spend most of my time trying to make images where a judge/viewer won't comment - "It's just a rose (or whatever)". Not so 2-3 years ago when I was just starting photography - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/roses - A normal evolution I suppose.

It's amazing what a few years will do. Congrats on the successful evolution from "just a rose" to art.
