The US Steel Clairton Works - One of the few steel industry mills left in the Pittsburgh area - it produces coke. I was driving down the Monongahela River valley on my way to visit family via a new route (thanks to Maggy - my Magellan Roadmate navigator) - and much to my surprise I saw a throughback to my youth. I thought they had all shut down. I came back later that evening to get this.
As it turns out, this photo is apparently against the rules - although there were no signs of any sort in the parking lot where I took this from (but that didn't deter the US Steel security force from running me off). They threatened to confiscate my "film". I tried being polite and maybe that's what saved the day. Needless to say, I got in my car and left.
This is a combination rail and foot bridge leading into the mill.
