7/19/05 - Indian Blanket

Just starting to open. Well - it's not a dragonfly & it's not a dahlia. I'm diversifying.
f/45 and the DOF is still not deep enough to get everything in sharp focus. I get a big kick out of how many folks say - "I don't need no stinkin' tripod - maybe a vibration reduction lens, but that's all!!". Yeah, right. And handhold this shot for the 2 seconds required and, at best, you've got an arty blur.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Great shot, Ed. I was amazed at how small you need to set your f/ stop to get good DOF for macros. F/16 just won't cut it! Beautiful colors and detail.

Beautiful macro. Well composed and strong in details. Deep macro without a stable platform is almost impossible!
