Closeup of a Polyphemus Moth wing (giant silkworm moth family). These are two of the eyespots on this very large moth (about 4-5 inches). It was a bit shop worn & had seen better days. Shenandoah National Park - compliments of a park ranger & my wife who told me where to find it.
You're looking at about a 1 inch segment of the wing - just about life size.
