7/6/05 - Heritage Hunt Oak

Up & out 30 minutes before sunrise. Haven't seen a good sunrise/set since returning from Sleeping Bear Dunes. This morning did nothing to break that string. Determined to shoot a sunrise, I settled for a sun-peek. And to think a year ago I didn't know how to get this starburst effect - and now it's pretty simple. This massive red oak, a real speciman, sits near the landing area of par 4 #17 - a problem if you go left a bit and end up under this tree (but of course the lake to right isn't so great either). How about that, Heritage Hunt golfers? Shot taken from the fairway.

Beautiful capture, Ed! I wish you had a little wider lens to completely capture the path.

I love that tree... i'd be taking pics of it all the time. it's so gorgeous the way the branches swoop down like tired arms.. The sun is perfect too
