An early PAD. Not what I'd normally expect on December 23rd. Spent the morning in Shenandoah National Park. Saw only one other car in over two hours - but the weather might explain that. The north entrance was closed until 9 due to ice. When I took this shot, the wind was blowing between 40-50 mph. Lots of tree branches on Skyline Drive. My wife opined that we were the only ones deranged enough to venture out on such a day. Alternated between pea soup thick mist and rain - and slight breaks like this one where we rounded a bend and I hollered "Wow, look at that rainbow". The rainbow was much more breathtaking in real life. There was a glorious double when we first saw it - but it only lasted a few seconds and I wasn't fast enough due to the wind and rain.
