I occasionally post an image based on a technique I call "out-of-frame" which involves post-processing to add a pseudo matte (frame) to an image with part of the image overlapping the matte. Here is a link to a recent such posting and the comments below the image contain a link to a "how-to" - http://ed-k-photo.smugmug.com/gallery/6988948_kjHp8/1/527539162_bBXJU/Large. Today's daily photo was done entirely in camera except for some minor cropping to take away part of the bottom white frame so the "third-hand" which was holding this white matte (with a black foam core background) couldn't be seen.
If you're into *weird* check this post-processing frame trick that I did after finishing today's daily photo - http://ed-k-photo.smugmug.com/gallery/6743129_wZgCB/1/556943846_zPAuz/Large
