A section of Shenandoah National Park my wife & I refer to as "Fern City". These are huge ferns and run from the edge of Skyline Drive well into the woods. They extend for several hundred yards along the drive near milepost 35-36. When it's misty like this, there's a sense of mystery about what lies further into the woods (and who knows what evil lurks hidden in those ferns; the Shadow knows - for folks to young to remember radio, ignore that last part).
