9/26/08 - Grand Teton Chapel HDR

Still experimenting with HDR. Going back through my archives looking for images shot at several exposures - I was doing "HDR" back then by blending exposures using layers & masks. The current HDR programs are definitely faster & more effective.
This is a five exposure image (1 stop EV change from shot to shot) made inside the Chapel of the Transfiguration in Grand Teton National Park. A huge tonal range from the deep shadows in the chapel to the view through the window of bright clouds topping the Tetons.
For a tourist guide outside view of the chapel looking in roughly the same direction as my inside image see - http://www.usatourist.com/english/places/wyoming/grandteton.html

The Tourist Guide should use your image, instead! :)

This is a beautiful capture of a wonderful setting. I especially like the glowing light on flat surfaces near the window.

In addition to detail revealed by the HDR processing, I'm tempted to add another layer of processing which would create darker shadows in the foreground/"behind" the pews, enhancing that sense of illumination from the window in front.
