Ye Olde Photographer and his Faire Spouse cross through Ohio fairly frequently on expeditions to visit family in Indiana. This gallery actually was started after a trek that went even farther, seeking a spot in southeastern Illinois to see the Total Solar Eclipse on 21 August 2017. More has been added after a subsequent trip to Indianapolis.
On this trip we scheduled a more leisurely pace that allowed time to stop and explore a little. We stayed (which in fact we often do) in Saint Clairsville, slightly past the halfway point for our normal Indianapolis route. We had sandwiches in Cambridge, hiked a few miles in Bark Camp State Park, visited the conservatory in Franklin Park outside of Columbus, and checked out the rail trail hub in Xenia. In addition we spent two nights in Yellow Springs and took in some more trail walks and good food.
If you are wondering, the eclipse viewing went surprisingly well for something Ye Olde Photographer has had no chance to practice with!
