For a break during our August 17th drive from Cambridge to Springfield, Ye Olde Photographer and his Faire Spouse spent a few hours at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus. Among the things to see and enjoy were a butterfly house and a number of impressive bonsai both inside and outside the huge greenhouses. There is quite a collection of large hand-blown glass pieces by Dale Chihuly found at various locations here also. There are substantial grounds and gardens outside, 88 acres worth, but on this particular afternoon the weather was not cooperative.

This stop was part of our Eclipse Ramble 2017 to see the total solar eclipse from a park in southeastern Illinois.
