The Lehigh Valley Railroad traveled past this point on this side
of the Lehigh River, and there were connections out of the rail yard
east of here to the Reading Railroad for transport to Philadelphia,
Reading, Harrisburg and beyond. On top of that, the mill had its own
railroad, and to some surprise, we note these locomotives are still
labeled PB&NE for the Philadelphia, Bethlehem and New England.
Normally these were used to shuttle cars around the mill property.
