Sugar crystals 3671 (V63)

Shot with a pair of speedlight flashes. One flash was on the left, with a Lumiquest bounce attachment. The second flash was placed behind the salt crystals, and fired through a hole in a piece of cardboard so the light from the flash only lit the interior of the crystals. This is really beautiful. The contrast between the texture and tone of the crystal and the jet black make these sugar crystals something else: eye candy.
