Fisherman's Wharf and the Cable Car Museum

We extended our trip by one day so we'd have an extra day to be tourists. So, today we took the cable car back to Fisherman's Wharf. We visited the San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park Visitor Center. (Whew, that's a mouthful!) We enjoyed an early lunch at the Boudin Bakery and Cafe, well-known for their sourdough bread (and of course we bought several loaves to take home with us). We walked around on Pier 45 at the historic WW II ships that are moored there and wandered through the Musée Mécanique, "one of the world's largest (over 200) privately owned collection of coin-operated mechanical musical instruments and antique arcade machines in their original working condition." We rode the Powell-Mason cable car line back to the fascinating Cable Car Museum, which also is the hub from which all of the cable car lines are powered. We find it easy to have a great time in San Francisco!
