We were determined to ride the cable cars on this trip. We took the Powell-Hyde line to the end of its run at Fisherman's Wharf. Our "grip man" was a particularly cheerful and entertaining fellow. We wandered about on the Hyde Street Pier,a National Historic Park. Thanks to a tip from a member of the SFFD, we ate breakfast at the Buena Vista Cafe, known for their Irish coffee. Throwing reason to the wind, we enjoyed two delicious rounds! We rode a cable car back to the end of its run at Market Street, walked back to the hotel and too a much-needed nap. Later, we visited with Jamey, Michele and Emma and marveled at Emma's new walking and talking skills. Then, we all went out to dinner and found that Emma is a perfect angel when she dines out. (At least she was on this occasion.) Then, back to the hotel where we slept like babies. Tired babies! |
