We hated to leave Lake Tahoe, but we had a great day planned for our drive back to Reno. And we weren't disappointed. We drove the scenic Lincoln Highway to Carson City, where we had a delicious breakfast at Heidi's Family Restaurant. The road from Carson City to Virginia City, Nevada 341 is twisty and very entertaining to drive and our rental Impala handled it surprisingly well. Virginia City is quite colorful, kind of tacky, but fun. We rode the Virginia & Truckee Railroad short route to Gold Hill and back and later strolled along rustic C Street, the main street in town. We drove the rest of the way to Reno via curvy, scenic, Geiger Grade Road. |
