April 22, 2004

Too tired last night to post yesterday's PAD so here it is, Friday morning, posting for Thursday. As you can see by the imagination here...I crammed for the PAD before hitting the sheets!

Last semester I taught on a Monday - so when Friday hit, I had to start prepping for class. This semester I teach on a Thursday night, so when Friday hits, I play! For the first time in a long while, Friday feels like Friday. I'm also looking forward to summer as I am not teaching any summer courses, so for the first time in a very long while, summer will feel like...summer. When I got out of law school, and started working a real, full-time job (my first ever), I was really horrified at the blur life seemed to become. All the days blended into the other, I always had piles of work on my desk, Friday was like a Monday which was like a Tuesday which was like a Saturday, blah, blah. And summer! There was no summer. Oh, other than the measly five days I took off which would have been ten days off, but I liked to take some time off during Christmas.

Then, after all was said and done, I ended up at home with the kids. Talk about blur! Really, all the days rushed into the other just the same.

So these days, with my more structured layers of responsibility, Friday is back to feeling like a jump into a California swimming pool in the middle of a summer heat wave. Whooo!

All this talking about grandparents! Sweet memories... But now I feel the grandfather of myself :-)

Jypsee, such a sweet view into "you." Thank you for sharing your own light here. And as a note, I love meeting this way, LOL!

Thanks, Goeff and Katwilkins - I totally plan on catching my grandmother today. Her gentle looks will totally belie the spitfire she is...lol! I'll have to tell you all about MamaNana, my mother's mother.

Oh, you're lucky to still have your grandmother; my light-of-my-life died ten years ago in June and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't wish for her...she was 94, so it was a long relationship. About your picture, etc., now that I've "retired," whatever that is, I feel like I need a daily planner just so I don't mess around all day AND night!! And, I find that the PAD deal is kinda difficult unless I have a photographic day all set up...sheesh!!! we gotta stop meeting like this :^)

LOL, Jill!! I'm happy to share with you that Thursday says, "Carolyn's class," and was written by David (the timekeeper of the family). For Friday, it's my writing and it says, "Lunch with Auntie." Auntie is my sister! We're off today for a lunch of tortillas handmade by my grandmother which is always lovely.

LOL I just realized how NOSY I am...peering in closer to my monitor to read your dayplanner. LOL!

Effective!
