02-APR-2016 Dale R. Palmer

Week #1 - Tufted Titmouse
by Dale R. Palmer

This guy was on my backyard feeder a few moments ago. With the Nikon P900's reach, I could sit in a lawn chair about 25 feet away without bothering the birds at the feeder. Pretty cool...

It was hand held.

Indeed, "pretty cool". Very nice shot, Dale. Especially at full out zoom. Did you use a tripod or hand hold?

Very nice shot, Dale. When taking hummingbird photos in my back yard I do exactly as you by setting up the tripod and using a remote trigger.

Nice catch! I have them on my feeders, but they move to fast for me. You captured this one beautifully, including the little catch-light in his eye. The only thing that bothers me is that the end of his tail is cut off. But, it's nature!

Very nice shot, Dale! Colors and sharpness is great, as is the compostion. I use the same technique when shooting Hummingbirds. I set up my camera on a tripod, pre-focus it, and sit a few feet away with a remote trigger.

Totally beautiful shot of him, Dale! Crisp and colorful, and the pose and eye-glint help make it a memorable shot.
