July 2- Standing on the Corner
Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, California.
It's never too early to get a good spot for the Rose Parade : )
The central corridor of Old Pasadena is Colorado Blvd.
Best known on New Year's Day for the Tournament of Roses parade it hosts.
These city blocks are favorite among pedestrians,
who fill the sidewalks at night to window shop.
This 22-block neighborhood has more than 80 restaurants
and clubs and 120 stores, shops and boutiques.

Laurie bought a new car last week
and we made our first trip in it to Pasadena.
It's an HHR by Chevy.

I'm in the process of changing jobs during the next two weeks.
For over ten years I have done social work in foster care and adoptions.
I am going to be doing medical social work as Director of Family Support
for a local hospice.
This will keep me awfully busy and I might not be as active as I would like.
I'll post and comment as often as I can : )

for Pismo Beach for the weekend to rest up
and get our batteries charged.

Blue Door
As I've said before, I'm a big fan of funky buildings and things.
So this was very attractive to me. What I like best about it is
the palm tree reflected in the window.
That's the only clue that this might be at the beach.

July 19- Mike and Daisy Kessler
My son and my 7 month old granddaughter.
We got to visit them in San Luis Obispo this past weekend.
They are both cool people : )
This would also have been my mother's 81st birthday
had she not died in 1971 at 46.

We have had oppressive amounts of humidity here lately.
Combine that with temps in the range of 110
and you've got lethargy.
I just rushed outside to quickly snap this,
then rushed back inside for a cold one.

July 27- The Surf Fisher
It's been a way hectic week with the new job and all.
Not to mention that it has topped 110 degrees
four or five days in a row now.
We are escaping to Pismo Beach again this weekend
so I hope to post some new one's when I cool off.
BTW, the new job (Hospice Social Worker) is far
exceeding my expectations and looks as though it is
going to be a good fit : )
