Broom Drills

John, Floyd and Roscoe (l-r) weren't cut out for Army life.
KP would have been a step up from what they did all day.
Sweep. All day. Storage room, warehouse, barracks.
As luck would have it, they did discover a talent hidden within that drudgery.
Instead of rifles, they became proficient with brooms.
As they swept any given location for the hundredth time,
they began to twirl, tap, toss and spin their brooms.
It was through this once latent ability that they were able to transform boredom
into spectacular shows of skill and dexterity.
Never noticed or recognized by their superiors or even their peers,
they retreated back into the shadows and returned to competitive drinking.

Did they go on to form an air guitar band after the war?
