Ankara 2006 09 0253.jpg

I have seen and liked the building in the back for quite a while. In front an exit from the excellent metro. I will on pictures comingnext show - amongst others - a monument that is to the left and slightly in my back.

I thought I used proper Turkish in writing the words you see in the exit of the metro separately, but find they are used as a single word (Red Moon).

Kizilay can actually be translated as Red Crescent, the Muslim equivalent of Red Cross. The building in the background is a shopping mall under construction. It used to be the site of Red Crescent HQ, which was demolished. Hence the name of the square (Kýzýlay Meydaný > Red Crescent Square).
