Here is an illustration of how steeply the hills run down towards the sea. The mosque is on street level with a main artery, the shopping street runs down fast.

I was informed this mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Turkey and goes back to as early as 14th century, built in 1360 A.D.

I wonder if inside there is any sign of this, I have visited several extremely old mosques that obviously had been done over completely during the last five or ten years.
