This Ulu (or Great) Mosque was under restoration in 2002, but has been finished. The whole neighbourhood is getting a face-lift.
The Ulu Cami (or: Camii Kebir) was built in 1678, to replace an older one that had become unusable.
It has no central dome, but is covered with six little flat domes, in the style of the (much older, and much bigger) Ulu Cami of Bursa.
