A detail of the previous diorama. The study area here is related to the eastern part of the Çukurova alluvial plain in the Adana region, considered one of the most important alluvial plains in Mediterranean Turkey for its noteworthy history. It was an important historical site, as documented by evidence of settlements from the Neolithic.
In Neolithic period we assist to the transition of the hunter-gatherers tribes to crop and farming cultivation techniques, the abandoning of nomadic life or semi-settled communities and societies for permanent settlements. However the hunt remains still an activity of the tribal societies. Important Neolithic settlements in Turkey have been found in Cayönu (Diyabakir), Cafer Höyuk (Malatya), Asikli Höyuk (Aksaray), Kurucay (Burdur), Catalhöyuk (Konya) and Hacilar (Burdur).
