Ankara Anatolian Civilizations Museum november 2014 4174.jpg

Female head, from Ankara. Roman, 220-250 AD. Fine granular marble, 32 cm in height, 22 cm wide.
Fragment of a statue that follows the type of the Magnesia-Borghese statuary.
This head is similar to those of the statues of Aquilia Severa, the second (and fourth) wife of the Roman emperor Elegabalus (who reigned 218-222 BC).
