This is colossal Silenus head with wreath in high relief, it was probably mounted on the theatre wall of the Roman Theatre in Ankara.
The Roman Theatre can be found halfway between the Castle (Ankara Kalesi) and the Temple of August (next to the Hacı Bayram Veli Mosque). The theatre was discovered in 1982; in 1983 the Museum Administration started excavating the site. The theater dates back to the 1st - 2nd century AD. All that remains are the foundations and some walls.
