Bursa Yigit Kohne Mosque Tramvay May 2014 6838.jpg

According to an inscription on a nearby gravestone, this mosque was built prior to 1449.
It has a square prayer hall (8,40 x 8,30 m), which is preceded on the north side by a porch, 8,40 m wide and 3,4 m deep (these are the inside dimensions; the outside measures 10 x 14½ m).
The prayer hall is covered by a dome, while the porch has a raised facade which is decorated with 17 niches in the form of small mihrabs/prayer niches.
Such porches-with-raised-front, which are open on their north side only (and generally having three arches) are not uncommon in the Ottoman architecture of the 15th and 16th century; in Bursa alone, at least eight other middle-sized mosques have the same striking characteristic.
