The mihrab area, which is the southernmost room of the building.
Along the so-called ‘qibla’-wall one sees the ‘mihrab’ (prayer niche that indicates the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca) and the ‘minber’ (pulpit from where the ‘Friday sermon’ is given, held during the most important common prayer of Islamic week).
